About James V. Glover

     Attorney Jim Glover retired from the United States Army in 2014 following 21 years of service on active duty.  A native of Louisiana, Glover enlisted in the U.S. Army following high school graduation, continuing the tradition established by his grandfather in WWII and father in Vietnam, serving as a third-generation paratrooper along with his two brothers in the Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division. He served during combat deployments to Operation Just Cause in Panama and Operation Desert Shield/Storm in Iraq. Deciding to serve as a career Soldier and Army officer, Glover enrolled in the University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth during which he served four years in the Rhode Island National Guard, participated in Army ROTC, served in the Student Senate, played NCAA Div. III college football, and graduated with a degree in political science and an Army Commission.

     Commissioned in the field artillery, Glover deployed three times to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division and Asymmetric Warfare Group, Operation Iraqi Freedom with 1st Cavalry Division and two tours with 2nd Infantry Division on the DMZ in South Korea. Glover’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Parachutist Badge, Combat Action Badge, and the Ranger Tab. Additionally, Glover is a graduate of the Airborne School, Ranger School, Special Forces Selection and Assessment and Asymmetric Warfare Group Selection and Assessment, U.S. Army Command and Staff College and the Army Force Management Staff College.
